All relationships are initiated from meeting someone new. When we are in the right time to start a relationship, we want to meet a potential new person, and that expected meeting can happen anytime and anywhere. However, some of us are still carrying several ‘myths’ of meeting someone new. Read some of these myths of meeting someone new, and see if there are some which are familiar for you.
1. “All the good ones are already taken.”
You meet someone in a café or restaurant, or being introduced by your relatives or friends. That person is everything you want; good looking, has a good job, kind, and mature. The downside is, he or she is someone’s date, fiancee, or significant other. And you think that that thing is always happened. The fact is, your concern about meeting eligible, potential partners is not a number game. Whether or not you find your dream mate depends on how much you want a serious relationship, and how much time and energy you are willing to invest in finding one.
2. “I will never meet anyone….(fill in the blank).”
We all have relationship expectations, and that does not matter as long as the expectations are realistic. But for the most part, requiring a checklist of ‘perfect’ traits is a way of controlling outcomes, not a way to finding love. In order to meet new people, you have to change your attitudes about all of the potential partners that surround you instead of complaining about your specific set of circumstances.
3. “I don’t want to look desperate.”
Looking for a potential love-life is not a desperate act, but a way to show yourself love. Naturally, all of us need to express love as well as be loved by someone. Every one of us deserves a fulfilling partnership, and the first step of that process is meeting someone new. In order to attract love, you will need to make it known that you have a relationship goal, and that your intentions are to turn it into reality.
